On Tuesday, September 4th, retired hometown star Victor Cruz attended a recent practice of Paterson’s two high school football teams to deliver a $20,000 donation in collaboration with the NY Football Giants. The donation from the New York Football Giants Foundation will be used to buy athletic equipment at Eastside and John F. Kennedy high schools. The visit to Paterson’s Baurele Field included center Jon Halapio and defensive backs B.W. Webb, Michael Thomas and Curtis Riley putting the students through several drills and words of encouragement.
“This place holds a lot of memories for me, it’s always good to come back,” said Cruz, who played for now inoperative Paterson Catholic High School.
